Sarajevo VRX Immersive Museum is a completely new way of promoting Sarajevo as a tourist destination, through the creation and showing of short historical films in VR (virtual reality), i.e. 360 environment, about historically significant events that happened in Sarajevo. Unveiling Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Princess Sophie is the first movie in the museum’s offer, but why did we choose this specific theme, and what makes it so important for Sarajevo?
Sarajevo holds a unique place in history as the city where the spark that ignited World War I was lit. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie in 1914 marked a turning point in global events. By depicting this moment in this immersive experience, we provide a window into this pivotal event, allowing visitors to connect with a part of history that profoundly influenced the course of the 20th century.
The story of the assassination includes not only the archduke and his wife, but also a depiction of the lives of ordinary people from historic Sarajevo. It brings to light the experiences and courage of those who were part of this significant moment in time.
Sarajevo has an incredibly rich and diverse cultural heritage. By choosing this topic, we want to indicate the role of Sarajevo in world history and ensure that future generations remain connected to the past.
This museum is a completely new way of experiencing our history, which cannot be understood as an average museum visit, which is why it is one of the one of the most fun things to do in Sarajevo.
Join us on a journey through time at the Sarajevo VR Museum and discover how this pivotal moment in Sarajevo's history is not just a local event but a significant piece of the global historical puzzle.
